  2. Good observation. There are rules regarding mustaches and beards among Saudi men. But most importantly, they both have religious significance as much like the Saudi women's way of dressing. It is an adherence to the Holy Quran. Cutting off of beard or trimming it shorter than a fist length is an act of conforming with the unbelievers. Every Muslim man is ought to maintain a beard that is a fist length. Any shorter than this is "haraam" or prohibited.
